2010 Tioga Meet Coming To A Close

As the 2010 Meet at Tioga Downs comes to a close; so does the experiment in lowering the retention rates to the lowest allowable under New York State law. My site is also closing after racing on September 12th.

I wish to thank you all for helping out and visiting my site and/or blog. Do not be disheartened as I plan to be back in the spring. We will open back up the first Saturday in May.

The tracks that we will be covering are tentative based upon whether Tioga Downs and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs retains the lower retention rates in 2011. Another dark cloud on the horizon is the problem with the Governor of New Jersey shutting off the subsidies from the Atlantic City Casinos to the Meadowlands Racetrack and with said Governor desiring to sell or lease the track itself.

We plan to offer the following lineup if all things work out for the best.

2. The Meadows
3. Harrah’s at Chester Downs
4. Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs
5. Yonkers Raceway
6. Tioga Downs
7. Woodbine/Mohawk
8. Ocean Downs

Please note that Ocean Downs now has the slots and the new facility will be open. They had to close for a vast majority of the 2010 meet running only on a few Saturday’s conducting racing without wagering in the Maryland Sire Stake series. I think the purses will be doubled next summer. Look for this to be one of the up and coming racing venues in the sport.
